The SpinLord Degu was our first Short pimple rubber and it is still one of our most popular. Both top-sheet and sponge are very soft. The pimples of the Degu are very short, have a conical form and ribbed pimple tops.
The sponge is not only elastic, but also has a good built-in speed-gluing effect.
The speed level of this rubber is ideal for controlled attacks.
The Degu is very insensitive to incoming spin, and it is also very easy to play. Therefore it is also a good choice for all players who never have played a pimple-out rubber before.
Advanced players will be impressed by the amount of spin that can be generated with this rubber. No other Short pimple rubber is so suitable for playing topspins as the Degu, and also for playing undercut balls it is very good. At the same time counter-attacks and blocked balls can be played as easily, effective and precise as with harder rubbers. Only for powerful shots the Degu is not the best rubber, for this the Waran is much better.
All strokes played with the Degu have a very long ball contact time as the rubber is not only soft, but the rubber compound is also very tacky. This is rather unique for a Short pimple rubber and enables the player to play more versatile then with most other similar rubbers. If the player is able to fully use this advantage, the Degu will also be dangerous for the opponent. But it is not a rubber, which is so dangerous , that players using it will be able to make very many easy points with it only through its disruptive effect.
The pimples of the Degu are very sturdy and the weight of the rubber is very low.
